Four Aces has Begun Re-Shooting in Guelph
Guelph, ON, July 2nd, 2008 – Synn Studios is proud to announce that Four Aces has begun principle photography this past week and will be shooting at locations throughout the Royal City during the month of July.
For Guelph residents, the name “Four Aces” should be familiar, as it was previously filmed in the city during the summer of 2006 and given a lavish premiere at our Galaxy Cinemas in May 2007. But this Four Aces promises to be an improvement in every sense, says the film’s writer, director and co-star Thomas Gofton.
“The first Four Aces was a great experience, similar to taking a course in school”, says Gofton. “When you're in school, you have fun and learn, learn, learn, but when you move on to the next chapter in life and have the chance to apply what you've learned and I think you get what this Four Aces is going to be: A great Indie film!”
The movie follows four friends from Guelph and how they each, in their own way, fall head over heels for Jessie, the new girl in town. Gofton stars as one of the friends, Luke, along with Paul Kingston as Michael, Kevin Sheward as Gabes, Kevin Withers as Christopher and Laura Nielsen as Jessie.
For Gofton, the sky’s the limit in terms of his ambitions with this Four Aces. “We hope to accomplish a straight to DVD release from a major distributor, some second cinema run time and a fabulous cult following. If it can even be half the shadow of any Kevin Smith movie, it will be a success.”
Synn Studios is also inviting any Guelph residents interested in spending a little time on a movie set to be an extra in Four Aces. We ask anyone that might be interested in coming out for a day or a couple of days of filming to e-mail brad@synnstudios.ca and let us know.
Synn Studios is a collective of companions, media gurus and indie filmmakers that work together on creating great products both for the commercial market and for fun.
